Description

SABIC® LLDPE 118WJ is a butene linear low-density polyethylene resin intended for general-purpose blown-film applications. Films produced from this grade provide good puncture resistance, tensile strength, toughness, and hot-tack performance.

The grade contains slip and antiblocking additives to support film handling and downstream converting. SABIC® LLDPE 118WJ is also formulated without the intentional use of TNPP.

Key Characteristics

Good puncture resistance
High tensile strength
Good hot-tack performance
Slip additive
Antiblocking additive
Reliable blown-film processing

Applications

  • Shipping sacks
  • Ice and frozen-food bags
  • Produce and carrier bags
  • Garbage bags and liners
  • Agricultural film
  • Laminated and coextruded packaging films
  • Stretch-wrap film
  • Industrial and consumer packaging
  • Shrink film when blended with LDPE
  • High-clarity film when blended with 10–20% LDPE

Film properties were measured using 30 µm film produced with a blow-up ratio of 2.5:1 using 100% SABIC® LLDPE 118WJ.

Technical values are typical and may vary according to production batch and processing conditions. Final product specifications should be confirmed through the latest TDS and COA before purchase.

Processing Conditions

A melt-temperature range of approximately 195–215°C and a blow-up ratio between 2.0:1 and 3.0:1 are recommended for blown-film processing.

Processing conditions should be adjusted according to extruder design, die configuration, film thickness, output rate, and finished-film requirements.

Storage and Handling

Store the resin in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area protected from direct sunlight, moisture, contamination, and excessive heat.

Keep the product in its original sealed packaging until use and follow the latest manufacturer storage and handling instructions for the supplied batch.
