Description
HE3488-LS-W is a black bimodal high-density polyethylene compound produced using Borstar® technology. It is classified as a PE100 material and is specifically developed for water-supply pressure pipe systems.
The compound contains well-dispersed carbon black, providing UV resistance for outdoor pressure-pipe applications. Its bimodal molecular structure supports reliable processing, mechanical strength, and resistance to rapid and slow crack growth.
Applications
HE3488-LS-W is developed for the extrusion of PE100 water-supply pressure pipes. Its crack-growth resistance, UV stability, and mechanical performance make it suitable for durable pressure-piping systems.
Key Characteristics
Packaging
Borouge HE3488-LS-W is typically supplied in 25 kg bags. Final packing format, palletization, and container-loading quantity should be confirmed for the offered shipment.
Pre-Processing
Polyethylene itself is not highly hygroscopic; however, moisture may collect on the surface of black compound pellets during extended or unsuitable storage.
When the material has been exposed to moisture, preheating for at least one hour at a temperature not exceeding 90°C may be used before processing. The latest manufacturer processing guidance should be followed.
Storage
Store the material in a dry, clean, and well-ventilated warehouse at temperatures below 50°C. Keep the bags protected from direct sunlight, ultraviolet exposure, moisture, heat sources, and contamination.
Keep the original packaging securely closed until the material is required for processing. Follow the storage and handling instructions provided in the latest manufacturer safety documentation.
Recycling and Reuse
Clean production waste may be mechanically recycled using appropriate sorting, crushing, and cleaning processes. Recycled material should be kept free from contamination, and its use should be evaluated according to the performance requirements of the finished product.
